Workshop | Afro-Samba Percussions with the Master Neney Santos (Bahia, Brasile)

The Master will introduce participants to traditional and modern Afro-Brazilian rhythms such as Samba de Roda, Samba-Reggae, Xote, Candomblé, and Afoxê.
Neney Santos is one of the most brilliant Brazilian percussionists in Italy, with an exceptional portfolio of collaborations with artists like Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, Carlinhos Brown, Caetano Veloso, and Olodum.
In Italy, thanks to his extraordinary percussive arrangements, live performances, and remarkable rhythmic energy, he has participated in musical tours with Jovanotti, Alex Britti, and Mario Venuti. Neney draws inspiration mainly from Afro Axé, a musical genre typical of Salvador de Bahia, where the band’s leader has deep roots. His music is a powerful blend of funk, pop, Afro-samba, bossa-nova, and jazz. Neney is a percussionist specialized in Afro-Brazilian rhythms, having received musical training and delved into percussion studies in Bahia, his city of origin.
