Patuncha | Body Percussion Ensemble

Patuncha is a body percussion band founded by Yosonu/Peppe Costa, along with students from his classes in Reggio Calabria and Catania (Gammazita). The full group consists of 23 members who take turns in the performance, playing exclusively on the body and executing compositions written by Yosonu. These compositions blend different rhythmic meters with sometimes Mediterranean atmospheres, other times rock moods, and even swing. The musical approach aligns with the Orff Schulwerk philosophy, combining looping with polyrhythms and interlocking patterns typical of marching bands, creating an energetic and engaging show.
