Luca Recupero is a musician, researcher, and sound technician, as well as the creator and artistic director of the Marranzano World Festival. He has studied ethnomusicology and organology at the universities of Bologna, Rome, Amsterdam, and London.
Since 1996, he has been dedicated to researching traditional Sicilian instruments, particularly the marranzano and frame drums, exploring historical and ethnomusicological aspects while also cultivating performance aspects. An enthusiast of oral tradition music, he combines the study and respect for traditional instruments and musical practices with the pursuit of an intercultural and contemporary dimension in music education and research.
