Debopriya Chatterjee

Debopriya Chatterjee is a renowned Indian flutist, specializing in bansuri, the traditional bamboo flute. Raised in a musical family, she showed an early talent for music, beginning her musical journey under the guidance of her first teacher, her father. Subsequently, he honed his skills under the supervision of eminent masters such as Pandit Bholanath Prasanna and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, who has been one of the most influential figures in her artistic training and who has often chosen her as an escort on the most prestigious stages in the world.
Debopriya is known for her ability to combine traditional and modern techniques, creating a unique style that has captivated audiences both in India and abroad. He has participated in numerous prestigious music festivals, also in duo with his sister Suchismita Chatterjee (“the flute sisters”), and collaborating with numerous internationally renowned artists, including a recent tour in the USA with Zakir Hussein and Sabir Khan.
Graduated from the Department of World Music at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where she teaches, she has received several awards and lifetime achievements in India including the important “Sangeet Natak Academy” award.
