Byon Kay

Byon Kay was born in Japan in 1970. He began playing the jaw harp in Australia in 2001 after encountering them during his travels. He has performed in various European and Asian countries, as well as in Australia and New Zealand, and has conducted workshops at various festivals and cultural centers. In his live performances, he blends simple and profound “mysterious instruments” from around the world, such as the jaw harp, nose flute, and more, with beatboxing (vocal percussion) using a loop station. His unique sound has garnered a lot of attention.

In 2010, he performed at the International Jew’s Harp Festival in Hungary, leaving a lasting impression on the audience and jaw harp players from around the world.

In 2013, Byon Kay performed for the third time at the Ancient Trance festival in Germany as a headliner and was invited to play at the Didgeridoo and Overtone festival in Israel. In 2023, he will embark on his sixth European tour and will perform for the first time at the Marranzano World Fest in Catania.
