Agata Scopelliti

Agata Scopelliti, born and raised in Cataforìo (RC), teaches traditional dance and promotes seminars and meetings on the musical culture of the Sant’Agata valley. He collaborates with the Ass. Cult. Conservatorio Grecanico since its origins. Over the years he has participated in popular music and dance festivals both in Italy and abroad: Sud Sud Festival (MI), Radicazioni (Alessandria del Carretto CS), Ethnos Festival (NA), In cerchio (Marseille), Zingarìa (Puglia), SpazioTrad (Turin), La Croisée des Cultures (Geneva); Fiesta des Suds (Marseille) Balambules (Alzen-Toulouse), Institute of Italian Culture by the ass. La Vita Belga (Bruxelles), Antitapas Night (Bruxelles), Caravan Rital (Parigi), Gran Bal Trad (Vialfrè), La Lugliana (Cirella CS), Kilombo (Cesena), C.I.D. of Rovereto in collaboration with Tarantarte, Blis Beat Festival Cascina Ballaria, DAD Zagarolo, La Capriola (Modena), Tarantarci (Perugia); with the group La Mescla: Les Suds à Arles (Arles), Meeting the South (Institute of Italian Culture in Marseille), Ostau dau País Marselhés (Marseilles). In 2005 he supports and contributes to the birth of Radici del Suono, a festival and workshops of music and traditional dances of central-southern Italy that will give birth in 2007 to Vacanze Romane Festival Indipendente di Musica Popolare. Teacher of South in Dance at the Popular School of Arts of the CIP Alessandrino in Rome.
