Workshop | Tammurinu (Sicilian Drums) in the Casteltermini’s Tradition with the Nobile’s Family (Casteltermini, Agrigento)

This session involves a meeting with the younger descendants of the Nobile family, who have been engaged in the tradition of building and playing the “tammurinu” (small drum) in Casteltermini for five generations. The workshop will focus on the oral transmission technique of the repertoire using a syllable code corresponding to drum beats. This code has facilitated the transmission of traditional rhythms from generation to generation. The construction techniques of the drum will also be explained.
