In 1979, Massimo La Guardia was among the founders of the Agricantus group, and since then, he has contributed to the founding or collaborated with many groups that have shaped the history of folk music in Sicily, including Tammorra, Taberna Mylaensis, and Asteriskos. In 2005, he participated as an actor-musician in the film “Nuovomondo. The Golden Door” by Emanuele Crialese, which won the Silver Lion at the 63rd Venice Film Festival. La Guardia, along with some of his students, created the frame drum band Millenaria Tammura. He finally released his first solo album, “Cuore Tamburo.”
