“Still Moving” is the title of the latest collaboration between Justin Adams and Mauro Durante.
English guitarist, producer, and composer Justin Adams has long been the right-hand man of Robert Plant in the Sensational Spaceshifters, co-authoring four albums and participating in various tours worldwide. He is also known for producing historic albums for artists such as Tinariwen and Rachid Taha, showcasing his sensitivity to North African grooves. His award-winning projects with the Gambian master Juldeh Camara have celebrated the harmonious blend of griot tradition with the spirit of blues. His latest solo album, “Ribbons,” marked by diverse guitar atmospheres, was listed among the top 50 albums of the last decade by Songlines magazine.
Mauro Durante, the voice and soul of Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, passes down knowledge and experiences from generation to generation. Since 2000, he has been part of the Notte della Taranta, participating in all the concerts and important events in Italy and abroad (Europe, China, Middle East), including the Pizzica Sinfonica project conceived by Piero Milesi and tours with former Police drummer Stewart Copeland, with whom he performs in numerous duets. He has collaborated with prominent musicians in the international music scene, performing duos with Trilok Gurtu, Richard Galliano, and Zohar Fresco. In 2010, he served as the musical assistant to conductor Ludovico Einaudi for the Notte della Taranta. Since 2006, he has been a member of the group Accordone, participating in major international festivals of early music in Europe, the Middle East, and Japan, collaborating with groups and musicians such as Piers Faccini, Ibrahim Maalouf, Sud Sound System, Giancarlo Parisi, and the Ensemble of Terra d’Otranto.
